Automatic charging relay
In a boat or vehicle with two battery packs, it is useful to charge both battery packs while traveling. The TACR-160 allows you to charge two battery banks from a single source, such as an alternator, but to keep the batteries insulated when they are not being charged. This is to avoid one battery pack being discharged by another. In addition, if one of the batteries is depleted, a second, charged bank will be available for emergency start.
The TBP battery protection relay protects the batteries from negligible charges before the battery is completely discharged. Causing battery damage and potentially a shortage of starting power to start the engine. Relays (semiconductor) also protect connected electrical devices against overvoltage. The battery load is disconnected when the DC voltage exceeds 16 V (12 V mode) or 32 V (24 V mode).
