Marine black and gray sewage treatment plants, compliant with the latest IMO MARPOL MPEC.227(64) requirements and for Special Zones 4.2
Yacht cruises are becoming more and more popular; however, this is associated with an increase in wastewater production. According to the EPA report, 3,000 per week. passengers produce 600 thousand liters of sewage.
To prevent this, it is necessary to equip the ship with a sewage treatment plant. The technologies used by Tecnicomar prevent sewage from entering the water and at the same time treat black and gray water. The water resulting from the purification process can be discharged overboard up to 2 nautical miles from the shore, and its high quality complies with the requirements of IMO MARPOL 227(64) and for Special Zones 4.2 (Baltic Sea) and confirmed by the MED DNV-GL certificate .
Tecnicomar’s offer includes two models of Ecomar sewage treatment plants, the S and SX series. The SX series is intended for installation in recreational vessels, while the S series is intended for passenger ships.
What are the characteristics of a ship sewage treatment plant?
The most important feature of a ship’s sewage treatment plant should be efficiency. Per day, the Tenicomar Ecomar system can treat from 2,000. up to 54.5 thousand liters. The water is disinfected, so it can be discharged directly overboard. Then the tank is automatically rinsed.
In addition, the ship’s sewage treatment plant should be durable. Ecomar systems are made of stainless steel or propylene.
Reliability is also an important aspect of a ship’s sewage treatment plant. The microprocessor panel allows you to manage all functions with low energy consumption. The system is also designed to operate in emergency mode.
We offer two types of sewage treatment plants adapted to different applications.
Ecomar SX
Sewage treatment plant for yachts, does not require permanent crew, twice the efficiency of the device and has the smallest dimensions on the market.
Ecomar S
The sewage treatment plant for passenger ships and commercial vessels meets the requirements for Special Zones 4.2 (i.e. the Baltic Sea).
Currently, the Baltic Sea area is the only special area listed in Annex IV. In accordance with resolution MEPC.275(69), the discharge requirements for special areas in regulation 11.3 of MARPOL Annex IV for the Baltic Sea Special Area enter into force:
